The family of a University of Indonesia (UI) student, M Hasya Attalah Syahputra (18), a victim who died in an accident but instead became a suspect, met with the Head of Polda Polda Metro Jaya, Inspector General Fadil Imran. Hasya's mother, Dwi Syafiera Putri, asked to recover the name of her son who was named a suspect.
"Especially regarding what the family said earlier, namely the family really wants Hasya's status as a suspect to be restored, so that the dignity of the family is also restored. Because after all this is a very big obstacle, including other matters so that there is a fairer and more thorough examination of this criminal case. transparent and accountable," said Hasya's family attorney, Gita Paulina, to reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Wednesday (1/2/2023).
Gita explained the contents of the chat during the meeting with the Metro Jaya Police Chief. Among other things, the conveyance of unek-related status of the suspect Hasya to the facts of the process of handling the case according to the family's version.
"Earlier we did discuss what happened, we discussed process issues, we also conveyed the family what they had experienced during the handling of the Hasya case, we also conveyed legally what we had and the atmosphere was more open and very balanced, transparent. And I am frankly surprised too and the Regional Police Chief can accept in a balanced way, yes, the facts we have provided and there is even a very firm, very good commitment that we have obtained, which we believe can be a bright spot for resolving this case," he said.
He said that his party also appreciated the firm stance of the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, in handling this case involving a retired police officer. He hopes there will be a bright spot in handling the case.
"We also need to convey that this is a good moment, which we are also waiting for on behalf of the family. We are also the attorneys who are very grateful and appreciate the Kapolda who is so responsive to the aspirations of Hasya's family," he said.
Hasya's mother, Dwi Syafiera Putri, said that her party only demanded justice in the case that killed her son. He was relieved to have spilled his grudges at the Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Fadil Imran at the meeting.
"We only want justice for our son. Where is our son currently declared a suspect even though our son has died and fallen victim to a traffic accident," said Dwi Syafiera Putri.
"Yesterday we were still confused about where to talk, but thank God this morning we received an invitation from the Regional Police Chief to speak directly, spill our hearts, share directly with the situation without a camera," he continued.
Previously, the family of a University of Indonesia (UI) student, M Hasya Attalah Syahputra (18), who died in an accident involving a retired police officer's car, visited the Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) Jakarta Raya. They reported allegations of maladministration violations related to the handling of the case.
"Today's goal is for us to report to the Ombudsman regarding maladministration and formal procedural errors committed by the police, namely the South Jakarta Police, regarding the handling of the case that befell Hasya," said Hasya's family attorney Attalah Syahputra, Gita Paulina, at the Ombudsman office, Kuningan , South Jakarta, Tuesday (31/1/2023).
